You may want to part a sales invoice if you want to charge your customer for a project upfront and then again on delivery.

In order to do that, please follow the steps:

Navigate to a sales invoice:
1. Go to your project → Customer Invoice
2. Go to Customers --> Sales Invoices --> look for the sales invoice you want to create a part for
On Customer Invoice screen go to Delivery section an change the order value to the one you want to be present on the invoice.
Select relevant "VAT Rate"
Remember to also select "Invoice Date"
Click "Approve"
A pop-up window will show up, please select "This is a part invoice or a credit note will be sent" option
Hit Continue
Click Issue

When you go back to your project you will now see a sales invoice that has been issued and a sales invoice that has been created but awaiting to be issued.
